The Dance of the Harvest Moon Powwow is the annual powwow of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, held each year, the last weekend of Septmeber at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center. It is one of the largest Native American cultural events on the East Coast, drawing thousands of visitors, dancers, singers, drum groups, artists, and vendors from across the United States.
The powwow celebrates the Lumbee people's rich cultural heritage while welcoming participants from many Tribal Nations in a spirit of unity and respect.Â

More than a competition, the Dance of the Harvest Moon Powwow serves as a gathering for families and communities to honor ancestors, preserve traditions, celebrate Native identity, and share Lumbee culture with visitors. The event reflects the values of respect, community, storytelling, music, dance, and cultural continuity, making it one of the premier Indigenous cultural celebrations in the Southeast.

Lumbee Homecoming is the annual cultural celebration of the Lumbee Tribe, held each year around the July 4th holiday, Held in Pembroke, North Carolina the event is recognized as one of the largest gatherings of Native Americans east of the Mississippi River, the event brings together Lumbee citizens, tribal families, alumni, veterans, artists, and visitors from across the country to celebrate Lumbee heritage, identity, and community.
